What’s up Everyone,

I’m TrippyRocks, late 30s. Got out of the military, life happened, let myself go all the way to 275lbs and genuinely hated the man in the mirror. January 2025 I said enough is enough and completely locked in. The last 10–11 months have been the most disciplined, most rewarding stretch of my life.


Down 60lbs to 215lbs fasted this morning, still dropping fat every single week, and the muscles are fuller, harder, and more detailed than ever before.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

First update of the log and perfect day to kick it off. Just got back from a full week off training (had some heavy family stuff going on) and honestly, the forced deload did me good. Walked in today feeling refreshed and stronger than when I left. Hit the gym at 5:30 AM and the place was dead empty. Took half a scoop of a new PWO, Smash AMF pre by KJ Labs, along with 10mg Cialis and by the time I pulled into the parking lot it was already kicking in. Clean energy and focus the whole session and even after, with no jitters or crash. Definitely recommend it!


Morning fasted weight: 215lbs
Sleep: 7 hours, woke up before alarm
Pumps / energy / mood: Top notch

  • Not going to lie, didn't really track today. That doesn't mean I pigged out, if anything I actually didn't hit my goals. Which to me is actually worse. Spent way too long dealing with stuff around the house and cooking. Dinner was chuck roast, with veggies for me and I skipped out on dessert.

With this new split I’m intentionally not chasing max weights anymore. I’m training for growth instead of pure strength so I have to keep telling myself to do higher reps, stricter form, longer time under tension, better mind-muscle connection instead of going for heavy AF. Today I felt an insane burn in hamstrings (way more than glutes), so next Legs B day I’ll adjust to activate the glutes more.


Forgot fasted weight this morning: 217lbs right after training + protein shake.
Sleep: ~5 hours. Woke up and pulled the CPAP off, not ideal.
Pumps / energy / mood: All excellent despite the bad sleep. Caffeine fixed everything, felt strong and locked in.

Been dealing with some stuff at home, so I stayed in this morning with my wife and the girls. After we all had breakfast together I slipped out to the garage and got a quick but good pump session in. Weights don’t go super high at home so I just did 4 hard sets across the board with higher reps and really focused on the squeeze and burn. Just ordered some more add-on plates for the adjustables so the next home session will be even better.


Morning fasted weight: 216lbs
Sleep: Solid 6 hours, CPAP on the whole night
Pump/energy/mood: Great, music blasting, double espresso + dextrose + Cialis had me going.

Took today as a full active-recovery day. I kept it simple: 45 minutes on the stairs to flush the legs, staying right in the fat-burning zone. Got a good sweat in and put zero stress on the body. Body feels fresh, joints are happy, and legs are already coming back. Ready to hit them hard again tomorrow!

Sleep: Solid 7 hours, CPAP all night
Pumps / energy / mood: Well rested and energized, exactly what I needed

5am lift today and legs got a real nice pump! Grabbed a pre-made meal on the way out of the gym because there was a chance we’d have to take my wife to the hospital, and sure enough, got the call at noon and came right in. She’s admitted now, but things have settled and we’re not rushing anymore. Now we just wait on more imaging and test results to see what her next steps are. Knowing whats coming I can be better prepared with food and everything else. Got good help at the house with the girls, so I can still hit the gym when needed, and my wife is fully supportive. She knows exactly how much this means to me.


Morning fasted weight: 215.8lbs
Sleep: 5.5 hours with CPAP, not a full nights rest but didn't feel like I needed sleep throughout the day.
Pump / energy / mood: Legs were on fire, energy solid for 5am, mood strong despite the circumstances.

From being 275 and feeling like absolute shit every day to 215 and waking up actually excited to train has been the wildest, and very rewarding year. Hands down the most fun I’ve ever had in this game.

Thank you for the good vibes for my wife. She’s a fighter and though, we’ll get through this.
 
5am workout again today and it’s clear that’s what works best for me with work, family, and everything else going on right now. Made sure to have meals prepped and protein with me at the hospital so I could stay on point no matter what the day threw at us. Back and Biceps felt strong, connection was on point, and the pump was good. Tomorrow is a rest day and with this new training routine I can see the rest days being important.

Sleep: As good as it’s been the past few days. CPAP came off after 3 hours, still got about 6 hours total.
Pump / energy / mood: Kind of hard to say that all three of these aren't great when you're locked in. Motivation for mood, PWO for energy, and US-Pharmacies products for the pump and gains.

Rest day today and the only one where I don’t even do cardio. Youngest daughter woke me up a few times during the night so getting up early for the gym would have been brutal. Wednesdays are always my busiest work day with back-to-back meetings, plus spending some time at the hospital with my wife while she got her last scan done (praying for answers tomorrow). On top of that ensuring my oldest is doing all her school work and the youngest had her weekly science-based kids training program that I usually take her to. Let’s just say I barely had time to breathe today. I will be setting up the portable steam sauna in my bathroom and sweat out some of this stress before bed.

Morning fasted weight: 215.8lbs
Sleep: Broken, youngest woke me up multiple times, probably 5 hours total
Pump / energy / mood: Mood is ok, energy held up on caffeine and adrenaline, with no pump sadly.

  • No gym, no cardio, only sweat will be from the sauna.
