SHARMS DAY obliterated. Another day another muscle fiber gained, or so we hope. Shoulders and arms got attacked pretty heavily this morning. Working out at a different gym lately and trying to figure out where my weights should be for the different equipment is always an adventure. I like to bounce around gyms often depending on my mood and have 3 that are in the rotation.

Anyway, sleep has still been great this week, no complaints there. Arm is still a bit weak but improving. Having to watch how I grip things as that’s what I think irritated it. Bicep work has to be light but I’m managing without causing further issues. Feeling great as this cycle continues to saturate.

A day for rest really makes you miss the gym when it’s such a vital part of your routine. Pretty much slept all day until I needed to get up to prepare food for work. Think I’m coming down with a sinus infection which is terrible timing. There’s always a road block to overcome but we keep pushing on.

Sleep was good, feeling good minus the pending illness. Legs tomorrow, will see how I’m feeling when the shift is over, might nap before I hit the gym.

Mondays log in case this gets posted after midnight. Still getting use to using tumblr to upload videos and it takes longer than I thought.

Exhausting leg day today, and it was only 3 exercises as I had to make it quick to make plans with my daughter this evening. Still a brutal workout and put in some work.

Feeling a little sick, definitely something going on with the sinuses and could really feel it when pushing hard today but we still got it done. Got to play on the pendulum squat and remembered how much I enjoy that machine, the feeling of everything moving through the quads is just perfect. But I wanted to talk about failure for a moment.

Hitting failure really is more of a mental game than a physical one, especially when it comes to legs. You really have to push past the mental block and pain to truly not be able to push any more or you give up and leave gains on the table. You’ll see in the video I post that I almost did that. I had to shorten up the video but total reps was 8, but I almost gave up at rep 7 when you see my arm search for the latch. After that set to make up for it I added 20 more lbs to the machine and pushed for 5 more reps and failed half way the movement. Solid leg day for only 3 exercises

Not sure where I land today as I have no idea how to track the Miso Ramen we had for dinner tonight but I’d guess somewhere between 2k-3200k calories

Training:
-Seated leg curls x4 6-12 reps then ran the stack down for AMRAP at each increment
-Pendulum squat x4 6-10 reps one set with 20extra pounds for 5 reps, then a back off set for AMRAP
-Hip thrusts x3 8-12 reps, pause at the top

Well I missed yesterday’s log due to sleeping so much. Ended up being a rest day due to not feeling well. One thing I will say about being enhanced and getting sick is that it does seem to last much shorter when it does happen compared to when I was natural. No complaints about that.

Felt really good today so decided to hit a heavy back day. Lifts were good and strong and energy was high. A few exercises we revisited form and dropped weight and just focused on that connection and the pump/feel was much tighter. It’s been a while since my back has been sore after a lift, but 9 hours later and I’m starting to feel it!

Wednesdays log, the first day of the new year, and it was an uneventful one. I think I’ve worked every new years since I started working when I was younger so never been much of the going out type. Ended up being another rest day, sometimes I let my sleep dictate if I get a lift in or not. Being on nights sometimes you just gotta prioritize sleep when you can get it. I’m off the next 3 days so will be making up for the extra rest days and hitting it hard!

Finally Friday! Bit of a weird schedule today as I wasn’t able to fully sleep with other priorities today. Just been napping when I get the chance.
Hit a pretty solid chest day after work and felt great. Weights are moving pretty smooth and everything is feeling great.

Saturdays log. Quad focused leg day. Gym went from being dead at the usual time I go to being packed. For the first time in years I wasn’t able to get a Smith Machine for the whole workout… which is crazy. But love seeing everyone coming in and putting in work. Had to alter the plans today because of that so I hoarded the leg press for quite some time. Sleep has been poor this weekend, you’re probably starting to see a trend here, it comes and goes.

-leg press close stance, 4 second negatives, pause at bottom, explode up, 8 reps. Started at two plates a side and worked up to 7 plates a side which is where I could no longer do the scheme for 8 reps, failed at 6 reps at the bottom

Mondays log

What a great start to a new week than a free day in the gym where we just hit whatever we feel like. Pulled a hybrid full body day today and going to rest the next two days. Even hitting muscle groups that I’ve demolished the last few days still felt strong and productive. Could be the increase in food or the gear beginning to work its magic.

Tuesdays log

Another rest day in the books. Spent the day trying to sleep, managed 5hrs and 18 minutes out of the 7 I laid in bed. Still trying to find a combination of things that work to help me stay asleep. I can’t sleep very well, but I’m an excellent napper, maybe that’s my problem 🤣. Tomorrow will either be another rest day or might get another leg day in, will decide after tonight’s shift.

Wednesday log

Ain’t no rest for the wicked, hit another brutal leg day today. Got some decent sleep before hitting the gym this afternoon so the lift went flawless. Pushed hard and broke the limits today. Learned a new trick about using bands as a “seatbelt” on the leg extension machine to keep me locked in and that allowed me to push the weight higher than I ever have. Maxed out the stack and added 25lbs to the gym pin(in reality it’s a giant pink screwdriver because I’m cheap, but it fits with the planet fitness purple aesthetic 🤣). Quads are spent and already feeling it.

Really locked in this week it seems, lifts are all going beautifully and progress is on the up. Met up with a buddy this morning to run through a chest/arm day. I mainly prefer to lift alone so I can go at my own pace with my own routine, but sometimes it just hits differently when you’re pushing each other. Lifts were solid, pump was solid, energy was high, and the vibe in the gym was just perfect.
