Mondays fun day of international chest day. Rested Sunday to let the gut take a break. Things seem to have improved and adjusted some choices to help that out. Also picked up a continuous glucose monitor to gather more data on how my body is handling all these carbs. So far data shows my insulin sensitivity is still very high, body processes the carb loads a little too fast. Will see how the data looks after 10 days, accuracy checked with finger prick and seems to be within range by 8 points every time.

Another wonderful day in the books in this journey of mine. Weather is beginning to turn and that elevates the mood and the passion. Warm weather is near! Fantastic back day completed. Great motivation lifting with a friend trying to out do each other this session, no clear winner, we both have our different strengths and feed off the energy.

11 weeks into the cycle, mood is great, motivation is high, sleep has improved drastically, no complaints from me. CGM is giving me some decent data that I get to learn how to use to take this thing to the next level.

Blood work scheduled for next Monday 3-30.

Friday 3-27

Wednesday and Thursday were rest days, my final two shifts of days! Weekend off and start nights back up on Monday. I averaged 6.5-9 hours of sleep these 4 weeks, will I be able to keep that going on nights? Yall are along for the ride with me to see if it’s possible. Ready to get back to my preferred routine if I can manage the sleep correctly.

Quick and simple leg day on Friday, straight to the point and got the work done. No extra volume, sets or unnecessary exercises done. Time was limited so went in and completed the task. Smoke the legs.

Wonderful 3 day weekend before I switch back to night shift. That means 3 more days of solid sleep before I go back to struggling(hopefully not, have the tools now to keep going). This month I averaged 7 hrs of sleep compared to 3.5hrs last month, going to work to keep that number where it is. Training on Saturday was a little bit of everything upper body to finish off the month. Rested Sunday and had blood work done Monday morning. Will reset the routine Tuesday morning and reconfigure nutrition and training to fit the night shift schedule. Feeling good going into it and looking to carry on progress!

The fun has begun. First shift back on nights wasn’t too bad, still prefer it over days. Rough day sleeping, only 4 hours logged. No bueno, hopefully tomorrow is better. Hit a great chest/shoulder/tri session, pump was great, energy a bit low. Blood work showing a piece of the puzzle that could explain that. Iron is extremely low and thyroid T3 is elevated. Engine is running at full speed with little fuel. Starting an Iron protocol when the supplements arrive. Everything else looked great, kidney and lipids were all fantastic considering the amount of Anadrol/TNE I’ve been playing with. HDL needs some work, but I’ve always struggled there, even natural. Still waiting on test and e2 levels.

4-1 and 4-2

Rough start to the night shift routine but due to things out of my control. Had to shift the schedule around to make things work for the family so sleep has been at random times. Will try to get back on track this weekend after the holiday. Great back on 4-1, rest day on 4-2. Iron and vitamin c supps will be here on Friday so I can start the recovery of my iron levels. Other than that still feeling great and pushing as hard as I can.

Who doesn’t love ending their week completely killing their legs so they can’t walk right all weekend? I for one live for it. Leg day will forever be my favorite, it’s the one lift where my ego never comes into play and there’s no holding back. Go hard or go home. Each set is completed with 1 goal in mind, push beyond the pain. Now if I could only have the same mindset for biceps 😅, my least favorite to hit.

Slept all day Saturday, work Friday night killed me with the storms we had. Spent half the night running around restarting equipment after multiple power outages…just what the legs needed after a brutal workout, a million stairs. Recouped some sleep and rested until I had to get moving for my shift.

It may be Easter Sunday but the work doesn’t stop. Had a wonderful Easter meal to fuel the workout this afternoon, pump was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Knocked out some chest/shoulder/tri work before heading into work. Caught up on a little more sleep with 6.5 hrs in the tank.

Went hypo for the first time after my workout today, not enough carbs to keep things running and was delayed getting some food down after the lift. Was standing at the stove preparing my meals for work when I got lightheaded and extremely shaky. Pulled out the glucose monitor and was sitting around 52, 45 minutes after the lift. Grabbed the bottle of honey and sat down for a few until it passed. Not a fan of that feeling that’s for sure.

4-6 - 4-8

Been a rough few days in this journey of mine. Fatigue and tiredness are beginning to take a strong hold. These low iron levels are beginning to show their face and creating problems. Since starting the iron supps, on days that I lift, my blood sugar is plummeting after the lift down into the 50-60’s about 45 minutes after finishing. Thought it was a fluke but it’s happened twice now and trying to figure out how to mitigate that little problem. I consume plenty of carbs before and during the workout as this has never been an issue before. According to some I’ve talked to, the iron supps can have a weird effect on glucose regulation so have some trialing to do over the next few days.

Been pretty sleepy and dealing with some brain fog so have taken a few rest days to let everything calm down. Did get a great back day in on Monday. The lifts are still progressing and I feel great during the session which is a plus, but feeling rundown afterwards is no bueno. Going to set up an appointment with my PCP this week to see about getting a referral for an Iron Infusion to speed this process along.

Also, rest of the blood work finally came in. USP gear still hitting hard! A little too hard haha. EQ just might not be the compound for me. Even after raising my test dose from 500mg to 750mg a week had no effect on my E2 which still came back at 14ng/dl. Now to decide my next move on how I want to attempt to bring that up more. Still only at 300mg week of EQ.

That’s a lot to deal with at once bro, but you’re staying on top of it. Good move getting with your PCP and looking into faster options.

I’ve dealt with low iron for some years now and that shit sucks! Hope it all gets sorted out quick brother!

Just got caught up on your log brother this is some next level detail and discipline and it shows in your pics. Very impressive. Looking forward to following you bro.

Really amazing to see you paying attention to detail in your health. Keep us posted on this. When there's so many bros out there who don't even do bloodwork it's refreshing to see this kind of advocacy for ones self. Nice work!

Finally made it back into the gym this morning after several days of being so tired. Decent chest/shoulder/tri day considering all things going on. No loss in strength, but endurance is taking a hit. A little more rest time needed between the heavier sets, but still putting the weight up. Was quite exhausted when I got home, took a little nap and was back on my feet again. Hoping this doesn’t last for much longer. Dropped the bloodwork off at the Drs on Friday and will hopefully hear from them on Monday with a game plan to get me fixed up. Until then I’ll just let my body rest when it calls for it and take it one day at a time.

Steps obviously much lower these last few days due to all the sleeping.

I’m beginning to learn that as time goes on. Don’t recover like I used to in my 20’s but I damn sure like to pretend I do. It’s been an adjustment not being in the gym 5-6 days a week but I’m beginning to enjoy it a lot more.

It's a constant learning curve as we age what can maintain our muscle as well as stimulate growth vs. what accomplished the same thing 20 years ago. I totally get it bro.

4-14

Several more days of rest which is why my logs have been slow to come out. Nothing to really report other than I’m beginning to feel a little better. Lowered the iron dose from 50mg to 25mg and that seemed to stop the borderline narcolepsy I was experiencing 🤣. No longer dead tired and struggling to keep my eyes open. Sleep has improved ever so slightly. This round of nights has gone surprisingly well keeping on track with 7-8hrs of sleep as opposed to 3-4hrs 2 months ago.

Spoke with the nurse from the doctors office who was quite ignorant and naive. She was clueless to the fact that you could order blood panels online without a Drs script for one. Was quite rude in asking why I felt the need to do grab those on my own. Anywho, have an appointment with the doctor Wednesday morning to see what questions she has, or if they will even help with this iron issue without fighting.

Do you guys fill your Dr’s in on your gear usage or try to keep some info hidden? Debating how much to let them know, possibly will say I’m just running TRT if it gets brought up

Next few days off, will be back in the gym, really need to get a solid leg session in because it’s been a bit.
